Lindum are turf suppliers with an innovative Wildflower turf, ideal for a range of landscape designs. Lindum Wildflower is an instant wildflower meadow growing in a moisture retentive biodegradable felt (using patented Grassfelt technology).
Wildflowers are notoriously difficult to establish when grown from seed, or even as small plug plants, in an existing lawn or meadow, because they are out competed by other more aggressive grasses. However Lindum has now created the perfect solution, providing an instant wildflower effect in planting schemes, creating interest and attracting wildlife.
Lindum Wildflower contains more than 20 wildflower species including:
Yarrow, Lesser Knapweed, Lady’s Bedstraw, Cat’s Ear, Ox-Eye Daisy, Ribwort Plantain, Self Heal, Meadow Buttercup, Yellow Rattle, and Salad Burnet
The species selected provide a colourful display and a prolonged flowering period. The felt medium that the plants are growing in keeps out pernicious weeds and other more aggressive grasses which would normally stop wildflowers from establishing and retains moisture, helping the wildflowers to establish quickly into the soil below.
Lindum Wildflower is ideal for a variety of landscaping situations, particularly steep slopes, due to its strength. Motorway or railway embankments can now be stabilised using mixtures other than grass.
